Volunteering with the Clay County Library is a WONDERFUL opportunity to give back to your community and support literacy and education. The library is a vital resource for people of all ages, providing access to books, technology, and information that can change lives.

One of the best things about volunteering with the Clay County Library is the sense of community you'll feel. You'll be working alongside librarians and other volunteers who share your PASSION for books and learning.

So whether you're passionate about books, technology, education, or activities, a volunteer opportunity is waiting for you.

Library volunteers are often needed for:

  • Patron Assistance

    • Search for and locate materials

    • Help patrons print from library computers

    • Assist at self-checkout machines

  • Collection Maintenance

    • Sort and shelve material

    • Inspect material for weeding/replacement

    • Sort and inspect donations

    • Pull reserved items

  • Programs and Events

    • Direct patrons

    • Set up and break down

    • Assist with stations (registration table, snack table, etc.)

    • Track attendance

    • Answer patron questions

  • Craft Projects
