Our Clay County Agricultural Fair is an award-winning fair because of the many volunteers who contribute to its success. Volunteering on this day gives back to the fair, AND the Clay Education Foundation can earn $500 for providing 10 volunteers.
- Gate volunteer shifts are 4 hours and include two positions:
Ticket Scanners/Greeter - Duties include greeting fairgoers, being observant, and scanning admission tickets. Scanners/Greeters are expected to be positive, courteous and enjoy interacting with people. These duties are performed outside and will keep you on your feet.
Ticket Seller - Duties include greeting fairgoers, answering basic fair questions, processing payments/transactions, and distributing admission tickets. Ticket Sellers are expected to be detail oriented and comfortable handling money. These duties are performed inside, and you can sit down or stand.
Volunteers:
- Report to Will Call Booth at front gate 30 minutes before shift begins.
- Will be assigned a work space and receive a brief training.
- Should ask for the following individuals upon arrival: Lorelei, Lacy, Ted, Makayla, or Rebecca.
Individuals who need community service hours, your volunteer hours will be tracked and you will be provided with a verification letter.
