Our tutors:

  • Receive online training, curriculum, materials, and support

  • Commit to at least 6 months of volunteering, approximately 1 hour a week

  • Tutor adult students who generally read below a 9th grade level

  • Work one-on-one, with a small group, or computer-based instruction

  • Help a student build reading, language, and/or math skills

  • Help a student work towards earning his/her GED

  • Work during varied times and locations based on student and tutor preferences

  • Are a part of a team to change adult lives through literacy!

* Tutor sessions may be completed 100% online or a combination of online/in-person. Students may request online or in-person tutoring support. If online, tutors will need a computer, WiFi, and a phone to participate. If in-person, tutoring is conducted in public locations, such as libraries, coffee shops, etc.
